How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” […] So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.Romans 10:14-15,17
Doing good to others tills the soil of their hearts to receive the seed of the Gospel.
When asked why we do what we do, we reply that we love because Christ first loved us. His life, death on the cross, and resurrection reconciled us to God, and he has called us to a ministry of reconciliation. We serve him by serving others in his name. We are not ashamed of the Gospel, and we share it with all who are receptive and train churches to do the same.
Our discipleship and cross cultural ministry training for churches and our summer interns includes seminars on how the Gospel conditions our response to the universal and timeless issues of poverty, race, and justice. But we are not today’s version of Social Justice Warriors. We are Great Commission Warriors bringing the light of Christ to a dark and sin-soaked world through works of compassion and words of life.
